Cone and flange hardened (52±2 HRC) and grinded. Soft body for later processing.
The differences between standard tooling to ER-Plus system is a dual contact face by shank and also flanged face. This allows a higher radial rigidity. See 3rd image for ER-Plus explanation in more detail.
